A Mother’s Journey: Six Months of Love, Growth, and Style with Baby Millie
Reflecting on six months of motherhood: from a challenging C-section to discovering Millie’s vibrant personality. A heartfelt luxury lifestyle story.

Six Months In: A Letter to Millie

It’s hard to believe half a year has passed since you entered the world. What started as an unexpected turn at the doctor’s office quickly became a season of recovery, adjustment, and learning how to move through each day in a completely new way. The first 24 hours were foggy due to a reaction to the medication, and the pink robe I had packed stayed untouched. For weeks, I relied on your dada and family to care for you while I healed.

The Deepening Bond of Motherhood

The hardest days are behind us, and this past month has felt especially meaningful. My love for you has grown beyond words, and I now truly understand the depth of a mother’s devotion. You’ve become an inquisitive, silly, independent, and stubborn six-month-old. You are curious, playful, independent, and already unmistakably strong-willed.

Discovering the World Through Baby Eyes

Everything you touch goes straight to your mouth, and chew toys are tucked into every corner of the house and car. Each morning, your dada takes you for a walk to Starbucks while I catch a bit more sleep. Nearly everything you find ends up in your mouth, which means teething toys have become part of the landscape in every room and car seat pocket.
First Foods and a Stubborn Streak
Your stubbornness is unmistakable—and you inherited it from me (and your dada). We’ve started solids, but bananas and avocado have been met with pursed lips and clamped gums. You love people and seem happiest when there is someone new to meet, though you always check back to make sure I am still nearby when the room gets busy. You certainly keep us on our toes.
Sleep Habits and Quiet Moments
You now love sleeping on your tummy, flipping over quickly and sucking your thumb. Bananas and avocado have not exactly won you over, and your expression makes it clear when something is not to your liking. You’re not much of a cuddler, but in the morning, you look at us like you’ve missed us—and I always miss you back.
Navigating Health Challenges with Hope
Your determination is already easy to see, and it keeps us alert. After multiple tests and specialists, we’ve decided to take you to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for further evaluation. I remain hopeful that we’ll find answers soon.
A Half-Birthday Reflection
You love rolling onto your tummy, settling in with your thumb, and making small noises as you drift off. You’ve shown me that I’m doing exactly what I was meant to do. You see the world with pure excitement and remind me to savor every moment. You look at us as though you’ve missed us, and we feel the same way.
