Fendi Takes Center Stage at Design Miami 2009 Vernissage

The F Factory Installation at the Moore Building

At the historic Moore Building, Fendi anchored the F Factory as a showcase for limited-edition accessories and creative experimentation. One standout was the “Needle Point Stitch Kit,” conceived by Silvia Venturini Fendi. Each canvas Baguette came with guideline drawings and multicolored string, inviting the owner to personalize the piece through hand-stitching. The result was a more interactive take on the iconic bag, blending craft and customization.

Custom Fendi Guitars for OK Go

Beyond the handbags, Fendi presented a series of distinctive guitars finished in fuzzy, glittery, and metallic textures. These instruments were crafted specifically for the band OK Go and were slated for use on their upcoming tour.

Meet Silvia Venturini Fendi

The evening offered guests a chance to mingle with Fendi executives, including Silvia Venturini Fendi, a third-generation family member and a key creative voice within the maison. Her presence underscored the brand’s emphasis on heritage, design, and hands-on innovation.

OK Go Performs Live

The evening’s entertainment came from OK Go, who performed their hit singles with laser-enhanced visuals while playing the custom Fendi/Gibson guitars. A clip of the performance was later shared by Cool Hunting on YouTube.

Design Miami remained on view through December 5, making it a noteworthy stop for visitors in South Florida who wanted to see Fendi’s concept-driven presentation in person.
